This 434-page, 36-week curriculum offers a vibrant and inclusive journey through U.S. history, beginning with Indigenous civilizations over 30,000 years ago and continuing through the timeline to the present day. Students explore the contributions, resilience, and brilliance of Black, African, Asian, Latinx, Muslim, LGBTQ+, and Indigenous people and nations, with a focus on justice, empathy, and historical complexity. Each week features unique, creative print-and-go activity pages, curated reading and video suggestions, discussion prompts, vocabulary review, glossaries, quizzes, and optional off-the-page enrichment. Designed to support a wide range of learners, this curriculum is flexible, engaging, and deeply researched—with a touch of humor and heart (and, yes, a lesbian prairie dog named Susan). If you're working with a mixed-age group, choose the edition that best fits your oldest student—this version is rigorous enough for advanced middle schoolers, while the high school edition offers deeper analysis for older learners.

This 472-page, 36-week curriculum offers a vibrant and inclusive journey through U.S. history, beginning with Indigenous civilizations over 30,000 years ago and continuing through the timeline to the present day. If you're working with a mixed-age group, don’t buy both this edition and the elementary edition! There are still plenty of art activities in this one for a younger sibling who might be interested in joining in. There is a lot of overlap between the two versions and we don’t recommend buying both! Pick the edition that will work best for the oldest student in your group.

How the High School edition differs from BWH Elementary and Middle School Edition:
Most weeks have two lessons, rather than one, for more opportunities for in-depth consideration of each topic.
There’s a lot more reading, and the texts are much more rigorous
The podcast recommendations are way more mature
A bit more rigor, seamlessly blended in among the creative and fun print-and-go activities.

If Wednesday Addams and Edward Gorey ever joined forces to create a grammar course, it might look like this. A little morbid, a little macabre, and a lot funny, this complete set of four grammar workbooks is geared toward upper elementary-aged learners, and might even be enjoyed by budding writers above and below that range. Whether your learner is melancholy 24/7 or just when it's time for their grammar lesson, we are confident they will appreciate the variety in our spooky lessons. Each week offers a mix of grammar exercises, informative (and hilarious!) guides, and creative writing opportunities. These workbooks are unique, both in their subject matter and style, with conversation woven throughout from us (Arielle and Helen) to your dear, sweet, delightfully-emo student. And in keeping with our Mint and Bloom Learning mission, these workbooks are infused with empathy education, inclusivity, and formatting that makes getting the lesson started easy for educators.
These are PDF Downloads! If you don't want to print at home, purchase here, and then upload a screenshot of your receipt over at Hard Copy HQ- they'll print any or all of these workbooks for you at a discount!
